unable to access Central configuration

Post by shaun1978 »

Ok, I'm sort of in a pickle... I tried reading the bcm on my 2014 kuga yesterday using focccus software and it just went haywire - I'll not use that again.
Ive installed and paid for forscan, rectified most of the problems as the config had all been screwed up, I can not now access the bcm central config at all, all I get is - service procedure has been interrupted., unfortunately I need to access this to renable some retrofits that I have done.

Check out battery voltage,it happens often after Focccus misuse that Forscan dos not connect at all to the car, if voltage is correct try to disconnect the battery negative(not so easy in some vehicles) or positive wait for 5 minutes and try again.
Keep in mind that Focccus is compatible with Focus mk3 but not fully with other vehicles.

Are you using a Forscan recommend ELM327 adapter?

Try one of the recommended adapters. Inferior adapters have been responsible for all types of connection errors. Note that a "bad" adapter may be able to read data OK but is not good enough to perform programming functions (service procedure).

It is a recommended adapter and has been developed in partnership with FORscan, I've already been programming with it, so it it capable, but thanks anyway.

Sorry, I didn't see the Vlinker listed in the forum post.

The "easy" fixes for connection problems are:

1. ELM327 adapter
2. Drivers for the adapter
3. Delete vehicle profile in Forscan.

It's concerning that FOCCCUS did not work for your 2014. There may be hardware issues with your vehicle.

Ok, so I've tried resetting the bcm, disconnecting the battery and linking the terminals for 20 mins, deleting all forscan data, reinstalling forscan, reinstalling drivers and none of this works
I'm able to acess the BCMii asbuilt data and modify it, access the module configuration on the BCMii and change it - I can access any other module and change config. I just cannot access the central car configuration at all, never mind edit it.
